Above all other requirements, Mizrahi Design Build put an emphasis on health and safety. Twice a week – more than is required by industry regulations - we bring our consultant from Safety First, a leading, full-service workplace health and safety firm, to our building sites to do an audit of all health and safety issues. Our corporate structure dictates that this regular overview of the site is seen by all senior partners of Mizrahi Design Build in order to ensure that any issues that arise are dealt with promptly. This approach also helps encourage optimal responsibility and diligence from sub-contracted trades on site. Mizrahi Design Build also strives to provide a comfortable and healthy work environments onsite with washrooms for men and women on each floor of the building site as well as warming gels for workers’ gloves and boots in the wintertime and masks and safety glasses in windy conditions.

In addition, Mizrahi Design Build has initiated an internal health-and-safety practice of meeting every week with all supervisors of trades to review previous issues and follow-up. Thorough documentation of the meetings ensures that follow-through is actionable and underscores the commitment to take responsibility and solve problems. The company also maintains a policy of complete transparency in accident reporting with the Ministry of Labour. Whether an on-site safety incident is minor or major, Mizrahi Design Build reports it to the Ministry of Labour in a commitment to build a professional relationship of trust.
